This part of the Main valley is very bucolic; rolling hills, orchards, farmland and a pretty little town around every bend. And the weather was sunny and warm. My only complaint was that the wind, which I had been led to believe would be at my back going upriver, was instead in my face. Not so bad though.
I made it to Wertheim am Main for the night about 55 km upstream and just in time for the towns' festival--something between a county fair and Oktoberfest. The tourist office helped find me a nice place in the old city and I had a great time climbing all over the town's castle.
