The last two days have been a lot of traveling and a lot of fun. We purchased our first "tour" which included an overnight boat trip to the lovely Ha Long Bay --about 3 hours plus from Hanoi in a bumpy bus. There are about 3000 islands with wondrous limestone formations in this picturesque area, with lots of caves. The old "junks" we traveled on are quite classy and the crew overstuffed us with seafood. It was also fun to meet folks from all over the world just on our little boat: Iran, Qutar, France, Germany and Thailand. So far we have not met one other American!

After the boat road, which including kayaking for Dad and Anna, we were dropped off at Cat Ba Island where we did some impromptu trekking into a jungle with a bunch of fun loving Aussies. This was the most memorable part of Anna's day as she really wants to go Down Under. We ended the day with a little beach time, some Tiger beer (parents, not kids) and much to Anna's delight: Disney Channel. Back to Hanoi tomorrow then on to Hue, a spirtual and cultural center via overnight sleeper car! Love to all!
