On the way home

When we left on July 1, a month seemed like a long time. Looking back it went very quickly.

We're killing time in the Osaka's Kansai Airport waiting for our flight. We're all pretty bleary from our 12:40 a.m. departure from Denpasar last night. But Hallie is enjoying the sushi and manga books in the store and I'm nearly comotose on a lounger.

We wound up the trip by returning by "fast boat" from the Gilis. The sea was rough and it was a bit like being in a martini shaker for 3 hours--but we made it safe and dry. That is more that I can say for the folks who had to sit on top of the boat and took wave after wave of spray as we scooted across the straits between Lombok and Bali.

We spent our last few hours in Bali in Kuta--watching the sunset, getting some food and spending the last of our rupiah.

All in all, it was another great trip. And while the places we went and the people we met were great, I think the best part was getting to spend time as a family. We don't have too many more years before that chance will be gone forever.

See you soon.
