It's official

As of this morning, our dream trip is off. After much debate and so many unknowns about the Thailand situation right now, we decided to take the full refund while we could. It has sort of been like a unexpected death and we have quickly gone through the stages of grief. Anna is mad at the "stupid protestors" (though she did have a good idea about sneaking into Bangkok wearing bright yellow Tshirts like the protestors so we could "blend in."); Hallie is taking it in stride; Mom refuses to unpack and Garin is looking at other options on the Internet. All said, we're grateful we were not there during this airport takeover. Grateful we are not in Mumbai and keep those families in our thoughts. And most thankful we had four Thanksgiving offers from very good friends who know how disappointing this all is for us. The happiest one of the bunch? Kirby! Stay tuned on a new trip report. Or not!
