We haven't thought much about our upcoming trip for a while now. Back in March, there was a flury of activity around planning and booking. But for the last couple months we really haven't done much. But now that it's getting closer and the end-of-school activities are winding down, its getting a little more real.
After our positive experience with the kids in Vietnam, this trip feels like it should be pretty easy. So far we've booked all our accomodations and some of our transport. The hardest piece to figure out is the transport from Krakow to Budapest--I've got some inquiries out on the net on how best to do that. Last night Count bought tickets to Billy Elliot--a show in London. I don't even want to know how much those tickets cost. I have a feeling I'll be saying that a lot on this trip.
We'll be staying in apartments the whole time. Hopefully this will give us a little space and save us some money over having to get two double rooms every where we go. Plus we'll get a kitchen with a fridge which will make it easier to picnic.
Right now we're trying to decide whether we want to buy a netbook to bring along with us. Since most of our accomodations have internet access, it would really simplify staying in touch. On the other hand, it's just another thing to have to carry around with us and worry about getting stolen. We'll see what we decide.
